For a certain kind of person, Halloween isn't just a single evening of trick-or-treating or carving pumpkins. It's a whole season, and a vibe that you either get or you don't. Some people call it Spooky Season. Others refer to it as Goth Christmas, and honestly? We're fully here for it.
If you're a cross stitcher who can't help but start eyeing up Halloween patterns early in the year, or if you spend late summer wondering when it's finally socially acceptable to start your Halloween craft projects, our latest SAL gives you full permission to get cracking and indulge your love of spooky season.
Cute, not creepy
Not all Halloween lovers are chasing jump scares and horror films. For many of us, Halloween is about the charm of it and a way to embrace the change in season.
A warming pumpkin spice latte, the drawing in of the nights, the satisfying crunch of autumn leaves - this is your season, and now you have the perfect excuse to get stitching and embrace Halloween early.
That celebration of the season is exactly the spirit behind our brand new Spooky Halloween Patchwork Stitch-a-Long. Think playful ghosts, grinning pumpkins, wicked witches, and rattling skeletons. The kind of Halloween cross stitch you'll want to frame and bring out every single year.
What's a Stitch-a-Long?
If you haven't joined one before, a Stitch-a-Long (or SAL) is one of the loveliest things about the cross stitch community. A new section of the design is released every fortnight, and stitchers all around the world work through it together, sharing progress, swapping tips, and cheering each other on via our SAL Facebook group.
Our Spooky Halloween Patchwork SAL runs over eight weeks, starting 6th July 2026, with four pattern releases timed perfectly to have your finished piece ready for Halloween.
Why have we started it so early you might ask? Well, we know how much Halloween lovers look forward to the season, and whilst some of us may be able to complete seasonal projects quickly, others may have limited time, naturally needing to stitch a design over a longer period of time. By releasing our Halloween SAL in the middle of summer, it gives stitchers of all abilities plenty of time to complete their design in time for spooky season to arrive.
